Clearer Identification of Industrial PUR Hoses
At the beginning of the new year, we introduced updated markings on selected polyurethane PUR hoses. The aim is to make key product properties easier to identify directly on the hose itself.
Alongside the existing product name, two additional markings are now used: A-Static, identifying antistatic properties, and the glass-and-fork symbol, identifying products intended for applications involving food contact.
The technical parameters of the hoses have not changed. The updated printing is intended to improve identification during installation, operation, maintenance and quality control.
A-Static Marking for Antistatic Polyurethane Hoses
The A-Static marking is used for hoses with permanent antistatic properties. Products carrying this marking have a surface resistance of ≤ 10⁹ Ω, confirmed by laboratory testing.
These antistatic polyurethane hoses are designed for applications where electrostatic charges may develop during extraction or material conveying. Typical media include powders, granules, dust, wood chips and other dry bulk materials.
Antistatic properties are particularly important in industrial extraction and material handling systems where controlled dissipation of electrostatic charges forms part of the overall safety concept.
Use of Antistatic Hoses in Ex Areas
When antistatic hoses are used in potentially explosive areas, the hose spiral must be correctly grounded and the complete installation must comply with the applicable requirements for the relevant hazardous area.
Correct grounding allows electrostatic charges generated during material handling to be dissipated. However, the overall safety of the installation also depends on system design, installation method and the specific operating conditions.

Food-Contact Identification Directly on the Hose
The second new marking is the glass-and-fork symbol, which allows hoses intended for food-contact applications to be identified directly on the product.
This does not represent a change in material or technical properties. Selected polyurethane hoses for food processing applications already met the relevant food-contact requirements; the new feature is the permanent marking directly on the hose.
This provides an important practical advantage in production plants where multiple similar hoses are installed, helping reduce identification errors during installation, maintenance, replacement and quality audits.
PUR Hoses for Bulk Materials and Food Applications
Depending on the product series and technical specification, these PUR extraction and material handling hoses can be used for dry mixtures, powders, granules, wood chips, dust and selected dry food products.
They are suitable for a wide range of industrial extraction systems, pneumatic conveying applications and processes where antistatic properties or food-contact suitability are required.
What Has Changed?
The construction and technical performance of the hoses remain unchanged. The purpose of the updated printing is to make product properties easier to identify directly on the hose.
The A-Static marking identifies antistatic properties, while the glass-and-fork symbol clearly indicates products intended for food-contact applications.
